Welcome to Pittsburgh in Pictures!

NAKED PEOPLE!!!! Ok not really, but an eye-catching slogan, banner, or headline is all you need to get someone to stop and read - hence, Pittsburgh in Pictures. My goal for this site is to bring life in the burgh to your home. Whether you were born and raised here or your parents just dropped you off for college, we're going to open your eyes to elements of Pittsburgh that were once only folklore to these parts. Add a little bit of humor to the mix, and you have le burgh.

Follow us through the nation of chipped ham and Ben Roethlisberger.

Good job, Taylor. While at Angie’s first over-inflated popcorn and pop sales event…errrr open house/parent-teacher conference at her school, I found this gem of a picture by one of her classmates.

Good job, Taylor. I’m sure once you’re grown, you’ll overcharge me for a haircut while trying to check out my ass.

PS. If you're a girl, good luck turning tricks for coke, you slut.

Ahhh the tangled webs we weave when we weave from the world wide web. Of all the stories I’ve written from my online escapades, you’d think I would have learned early on to screen these people more before meeting them in public…yeah, not so much.

Pittsburgh Barbies

Since moving to Pittsburgh, I've met many types of women - and written about them!! A former coworker of mine sent me an email that really sums up the type of females in Pittsburgh.

I can't take credit for the following pictures, but I did find them funny...and eerily accurate.

"North Side or Lawrenceville Barbie"
This Barbie now comes with a stroller and infant doll. Optional accessories  include a GED and bus pass. Gangsta Ken and his 1979 Caddy were available, but are now very  difficult to find since the addition of the infant.

It makes me happy to once again bring to the attention anyone left reading this site of a new blog: PittsburghSportsGuys.com. Clever name, eh?

If you wondering to yourself, "I wonder what they write about?", then you should go chase kittens in traffic.

Check em out. Should be good writing. If not, then I'll make fun of them on this site. Either way, should be fun.

Story About a Story

It has been a while since I last posted something online. I’ve just been busy….and somewhat lazy, not gonna lie.

It's rare that my mom says anything out of the blue that really embarrasses me. She’s always been pretty good staying low key with the awkward comments; especially in public. Every once in a while, she’ll slip and I can’t help, but laugh.

Following is a story about a story. It’s a phone conversation I had with my mom a few days ago about this story:

Trevor Letowski Knocked Out

I love watching big hits and plays in sports! Last year's Stillers were great for this sort of thrill. The gadget plays that Cowher would call would have everyone in the room cheering and going nuts. The oohs and ahhs would come from Polamolu's huge defensive hits. This year, we have to turn to the NHL.

I got tickets from a friend to go to Saturday's game(10/14) against the Carolina's Hurricanes. If you didn't see the game on TV or from SI's highlight reel, then read on. It was nasty that night.

I'm Sorry, What?!

Your mom is like the Commodores – easy like Sunday morning.

You gotta love similes. Even though it’s a stupid word – simile – it’s a great tool in humor. Every comedian uses them and every seventh grade English teacher tries to teach them.

During the last Rape Prevention Seminar I helped to instruct, I felt a sense of enlightenment. We were working on ground work and the ladies were doing really well. One woman in particular was having a little trouble with the technique. This is where the women practice situations as if their attacker manages to get them to the ground and gets on top of them.

What follows still kinda baffles me today.

Sometimes, people try to get one over on me. Every once in a while they succeed, but I still hold my own. Here are are a couple of conversations I had this week that I thought I'd share.

Not my best material, but I still chuckle when I read them. Enjoy.

I checked the referral logs for my site this morning. I do this on a daily basis, because 1. I have nothing better to do, and 2. its a good way to know who your target audience is.

Apparently, my audience includes pedestrial sodomites that want le burgh to declothe herself.

I’ve started carrying my digital camera with me everywhere I go. I kept running into funny sh** that was so random, it was worth sharing. The two pictures below are exactly what I’m talking about.
